Three Things about Me

Three Things

December 5, 2016 by Tanya // 22 Comments

It’s been a bit heavy and down here since the election, so I’m lightening things up today with a 3 things prompt that several of my friends have done. I believe it originated with Steph but I may be wrong, so my apologies if I am. ๐Ÿ™‚ It won’t be the first time I’ve ever been wrong, which may shock some of you. Or not. LOL!

3 Things About Me

I’ve combined a few prompts that I’ve seen and added my own too.

Three things Iโ€™d never give up
Max, family and friends, good books and freedom.

Three favorite vegetables
I love vegetables so this is a tough one. Potatoes, green beans and tomatoes (technically a fruit but bugger off).

Three places I want to visit inside the US
Hawaii, New York City and Washington, DC. I’ve been to DC but would like to take my parents there, but probably not while you know who is in office because I might accidentally detour to the White House and drop kick him right into Putin’s loving arms.

Three places I want to visit outside the US
England, Italy and Belgium. The last one is for my parents. I don’t have much personal interest in Belgium, but my mom’s family originates from there and she has always wanted to visit. Plus, they have good chocolate so win-win.

Three things that make me laugh
Max, potty humor (fart jokes or sounds. It’s like I’m two-years-old) and Minions (again, two-years old).

Three things that make me cry
This is Us (every week Randall makes me cry), Emeril (RIP my beloved feline, not the chef) and hate/racism (it also makes me hulk out too).

Three things I frequently forget
Where I put my keys, sunglasses and what the heck I need in the kitchen, living room or bedroom because I’m standing there, completely confused. Clearly, I’m getting forgetful.

Three favorites foods
Mashed potatoes, chicken parmesan (if you have a good recipe, please share) and pizza.

Three famous people Iโ€™d like to meet
JK Rowling, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Stephen Spielberg.

Three famous people Iโ€™d like to avoid
Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter. I assume you know why.

Three books I love
This is my question so I am going to cheat. Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. The In Death series by JD Robb. Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Those are my ride and die series.

Three TV shows I love
This is Us, Speechless and Lucifer are three shows I currently watch. Justified, Breaking Bad and Person of Interest are three shows I loved that recently ended and miss deeply.

3 biggest pet peeves
People who don’t use turn signals, people who confuse bullying for strength or kindness for weakness and having to hem petite size pants.

Three wishes for the world
To embrace diversity and our unique differences, opportunity for everyone and to treat our world, both people and resources, with kindness and respect.

And now I feel like a damn beauty queen.

Your turn: Tell me 3 things about you.

Randall… I ADORE him! He makes me teary.
    Ahhh – sorry about Emril.
I wanted to post avocado as a veggie… but found out its a fruit. I like the bugger off comment ๐Ÿ˜‰ haha

Randall gets me every single week too. I love him and his family. Emeril has been gone for 4 years, but it still feels like yesterday. The sun rose and set on that cat. You should have posted it as a veggie – I would have understood. And I love avocados too, especially when made into guacamole!

I love your answers for both famous people questions! Also, Minions are hilarious, not using turn signals drives me nuts too, and your three wishes for the world…mic drop.

Californians are notorious for not using turn signals. I can’t count how many times I’ve been the only one in the turning lane with my blinkers on! Minions rule. I adore those yellow little creatures. And I really, really wish I had a magic lamp so I could wish my three wishes to life.

Ann Coulter was on my list, too. She is foul.

I love and miss Justified so, so much! I heart Boyd.

(This did originate with Steph, by the way. You were right)

I remember and she is foul. Somehow she irritates me the most. Maybe because she is a woman and thus should be better. Justified remains one of my all-time favorite shows. Boyd was great. I loved both him and Raylan so much.

Ew. Ann Coulter is a disgrace. Definitely not a fan of her hate-filled platform.

I love veggies, too! Right now I’m obsessed with Brussel sprouts!
I want to visit England so badly. I’m hoping to take K to England and Switzerland in 2018!

She is a disgrace. A big, big disgrace and why anyone would want to have a hate-filled platform is beyond me. I’m trying really hard to get into brussel sprouts because they are so good for you, but the couple recipes I tried have been somewhat meh. But I keep trying! England and Switzerland would be so much fun! We’ll get there someday!

Your 3 people to avoid, yup! Right there with ya! I also want to visit England and Scotland.

Do it, do it, do it, Mackenzie! It’s a fun post and an easy one too! ๐Ÿ˜€ When I go to England I want to visit where Jane Austen lived … I assume there is something there. Maybe not. But I don’t care, still want to go pay my respects. And do the Jack the Ripper tour. It is probably a tourist trap but I don’t care!

Potatoes … yum. I could eat my weight in them. It’s a bit shorter for me, but it’s still a long flight to Hawaii. But worth it … some day!

lol yes to tomatoes being a fruit hahaha.
i am super lazy with chicken parm, i just pour pasta sauce over chicken. so it’s totally not real chicken parm but lordy it is EASY.
i still haven’t watched This is Us.
okay, i see your having to hem petite size pants and i raise you never being able to find pants that are long enough EVEN IN LONG SIZE SO MUCH RAGE. and i’m not even *that* tall.

I’ve nailed my sauce for chicken parmesan but not the chicken itself. The breading either falls off when frying or it’s too bland. It’s a real production and I swear if there was a restaurant nearby that made a great chicken parmesan, I wouldn’t even bother trying to make my own! LOL! You can have my excess material, girl. I don’t need it; I don’t want it; it is ALL yours!

3 things about me (you ask):
    I love all things potato.
    I love all things cheese.
These two things may be why I’ll never be a person considered “skinny”.

I have a version of this in draft. I just need to finish it.

To keep with the things, 3 things I learned about you from this post:
That you are vertically challenged enough that you need to hem petite pants ๐Ÿ™‚
That your mother’s family origin is from Belgium.
That Max is one of the things you’d never give up. (Okay. I’m kidding. I already knew that, of course.)

Cheese! I can’t believe I forgot cheese. Cheese makes the world go round! Potatoes, cheese and pasta are why I will never been a skinny girl either. ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s embarrassing going to a tailor with my petite pants and having to take them up an inch or two. Seriously, I’m not that short! I tell Max every day that he is stuck with me FOREVER!

I’m enjoying This is Us although it’s a tiny bit overdramatic. ๐Ÿ™‚ I actually like Pitch (from the same creator) more, but I fear it being cancelled. I think you’d LOVE Italy!

I’ve heard really good things about Pitch but haven’t watched it, yet. I’d eat my way through Italy and come back fat, but it would be worth it!
