Three Things about Me, March Edition

Three Things about Me: March Edition

March 15, 2018 by Tanya // 14 Comments

My friend Jana had another edition of Three Things and I cannot help but play along. Sure, sure, maybe I didn’t have another post for today but still … I’d have found time to join the fun because you can never know too much about someone. This is a lie. I most definitely believe you can know too much about someone!

3 Current Favorite Songs:

  1. Praying by Kesha
  2. Beautiful Trauma by Pink
  3. Despacito by Luis Fonsi — the non Baby Bieber version (don’t judge but this song makes me shake my booty and feels like I’m giving Emperor Baby Fists the finger because the song is sung in Spanish by a Puerto Rican singer. C’mon, dance with me!)

And don’t worry — I wouldn’t do wrong by you — this is the baby Bieber free version. And you’re welcome.

3 Favorite Vacation Spots:

I don’t have any. Most of my vacations have been fun but more family vacations. Oddly, I am one of the few people where travel is not a priority, although I do have places that I want to visit. These are the places I have not been but believe could become favorite vacation spots.

  1. Italy (although if they keep pushing facism than no)
  2. Paris (coffee and croissant at an outdoor cafe)
  3. Somewhere beachy where I can order fruity drinks on demand

3 Books I Thought I’d Love but Didn’t:

  1. I See You by Clare Mackintosh (intensely disliked this book)
  2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  3. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

3 Books Everyone Loved that I Hated:

  1. What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
  2. You by Caroline Kepnes
  3. Heartless by Marissa Meyer

via GIPHY

Also, hate is a strong word. I did not hate any of the above books but I’d like to shake the memory of them off me too.

3 Books Everyone Hated that I Loved:

  1. Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough (This book is the most polarizing of my favorite books. I run into few who like it as most either love it (like me) or hate it. And I am fascinated by which camp you fall in.)
  2. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K Rowling (Again not universally hated but this is the book that divides most HP fans. I still liked it though, not as much as books 1-7 but I was just grateful for more Harry Potter. And I suspect it is magnificent when enjoyed as intended — live and on stage.)
  3. The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. (This is a bit presumptuous on my part. It’s not as polarizing (yet) as Behind Her Eyes but some found it boring or too slow or didn’t like the twist. Me, I liked the twist. But what I really, really liked was the very, very bad — and brilliant but burn-in-Hell — bad thing Vanessa did. She takes her time unveiling the “bad” thing but patience is a virtue. πŸ˜‰

3 Common Things I Cannot Do:

  1. Parallel Park (failed my driver’s test because of this) and I also cannot spell parallel as it took three tries to get it right. My previous attempts were so poor that spell check couldn’t even identify the word and asked me if I was Donald Trump.
  2. Reach the top shelf at the grocery store (or any store or my closet or my kitchen cabinets)
  3. Dive (total and utter belly flop every time)

via GIPHY

Assuming I even managed to parallel park (unlikely), this is what I fear would happen.

3 Popular Shows I’ve Never Seen:

  1. Keeping Up with the Kardashians (or any of their gazillion spinoff shows)
  2. Housewives of Anyplace
  3. Gilmore Girls (please don’t hate me)

3 Items Always in My Purse that Aren’t My Phone or Wallet:

  1. Sunglasses or glasses, whichever is not currently slipping down my nose.
  2. Kleenex because apparently I am an old lady.
  3. Feminine product (TMI?)

Okay, those are three more things about me. You pick one to answer or tag in!

Yeah, I’ve never watched any of the Housewife shows. Not interested in the slightest. And I LOVED Cursed Child. I liked it when I read it, but I do agree that it should be seen live. I actually got that chance already – I know, I know, I’m lucky – but it really is something that is amazing to see performed. I really want them to film it at some point and release it so everyone can see it!

I’m not interested in the Housewives shows either. Or a Kardashian show. To be fair, though, I generally do not reality tv. I AM SO INSANELY JEALOUS! You’ve already seen Cursed Child live? I cannot wait to see and bet it is amazing!

I watched the Kardashians VERY early on but I quickly grew to dislike them (and their voices). Things that I always keep in my purse are wallet, phone, and aspirin.

LOL! I should probably carry a bobby pin or a hair clip with me. It seems like you always need one and never have any.

I honestly don’t know what a Kardashian sounds like but I’m guessing very baby girl like. πŸ˜€

Laughing pretty hard about your Heartless dislike. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t awesome…
The colors and energy in the Despacito video are fun πŸ™‚ I love Kesha’s “Praying”, too. And her song “Woman” πŸ˜‰
Any all-inclusive resort will deliver you drinks on the beach. Go there! Jamaica was a dream!!
I was in the HATE camp on Cursed Child, but I’m glad someone loved it! Ha!

You mentioned Woman to me before and I now LOVE that song too! Yeah, I’d love to check an all-inclusive resort. Just sit on the beach with a book and keep those fruity drinks a coming! πŸ˜€ Really – I did not remember you being in the HATE camp with Cursed Child!! It’s definitely not as good as the canon books, but I liked it overall and there were actually parts that I really loved.

Harry Potty & the Cursed Child – ALL THE YES!!!! I hate when I hear anyone say anything negative about it.
I’m just starting to watch Gilmore Girls myself so you’re not alone.
I think of that Austin Powers parking every time I go to parallel park.

Yay! Another fan of Cursed Child! Okay, I feel a little better about never having watched Gilmore Girls. I feel somewhat bad because so many people love it but it doesn’t overly appeal to me. I’m not sure why.

How have you not watched Gilmore Girls???? It is one of my favorite shows ever πŸ™‚

I get it though… I guess I feel about Gilmore Girls how some people feel about Game of Thrones. I’ve never seen an episode of that show and in some circles, apparently that is sacrilegious πŸ™‚

Also as a sidenote to you and me and our inability to parallel park: I literally had to park further down the street to pick my daughter up from school the other day because the closer spot required parallel parking and you know, that just wasn’t in the cards! Ha, ha, ha….

I know. I know. I feel bad because it gets so much love. But it wasn’t on my radar when it was on and even now I feel somewhat meh about it. I’ve read two (maybe three) of the Games of Thrones books but have only seen an episode or two of the show. I don’t get HBO and I’m not a diehard fan of the series. You men – I’m a Sherlock/Elementary girl! πŸ˜€

Oh man – I always end up parking a gazillion miles away to avoid parallel parking so I can completely relate. Why humiliate yourself? Or worse, hit another car? Right? We’re being smart! πŸ˜€

I’ve only read one JoJo Moyes book (One Plus One) and really loved it. But Liane Moriarty is a solid no-go. I tried her twice and did not like her. At all. I’m not sure if I could stay in Italy for a month. Not because I wouldn’t want to, but I’d get so fat because all I’d do is eat. And eat and eat. πŸ˜€ But I’ll still stay there for a month if I had the chance!
