We’re one month into 2017 and day 13 into Emperor Baby Fists reign of terror and I’m ready to fast forward to whenever he gets impeached. But I am also a big believer in two things: 1) Not being silent and 2) Happiness is the best revenge. I will not be silent, nor will I wallow in misery and give away my joy for the next four years. I will be loud, happy and #resist.
June Recap
June has been a bit of rough month news-wise. From Brock Turner to Orlando to Donald Trump to Brexit, there seems to be no shortage of bad news or signs of a pending apocalypse. It’s enough to turn anyone’s smile upside down. I’ve spent a lot of time surfing the various news site to stay abreast of the latest happenings, which may have been a mistake. Not that I want to be uninformed, but sometimes you have to turn off the news and take a break.
April Recap: The Good, Bad Month
Hasta la vista, April. I’m not gonna lie: there were good and bad days, and I’m okay with seeing April in my rearview window. My depression, which had been chilling in Antarctica or some place far from me, made an unwelcome reappearance in my life. Beyond work, I didn’t feel like doing much else, except the much else is all the important stuff, like living. While I very much enjoy my work, I don’t live to work. Or at least that’s not what I want to do. Now I’m behind on my goals and my mojo is still low, which means I’m playing catch-up, relighting my spark and moving forward because that is all I can do.
March Recap: The Things I’m Loving
Farewell, March. See ya next year. Honestly, where did March go, people? It’s cliche but it’s true: time flies. One moment we’re easing into March and two seconds later April rent is due. 🙂 Still, all in all, March was a good, busy month for me, so I shouldn’t complain. You’ll note that I said shouldn’t, not that I wouldn’t. You always gotta read the fine print, my friends. HA!
February Round-Up: The Things I Loved
Whoa. February is almost at an end. It is the shortest month, but it still flew by. It was a weird weather month in Southern California, a place that doesn’t experience “weather” in a traditional sense. Sunny and warm must get so boring for the meteorologists. This month it was really cold, then hot (like 90 degrees hot) with a little rain mixed in. I went from adding an extra blanket to my bed to digging out my shorts. I know: boo-hoo.
January Round-Up: What I’m Reading, Watching and Eating
I can’t believe we’re already saying farewell to January. It’s always such a strange month to me. It both moves slow in comparison to the hustle and bustle of December, while also disappearing faster than Max can gobble a bowl full of kibble. It seems like I never accomplish everything I intended, but that’s life, right? Having plans and to-do’s, then being flexible enough to adapt to change and opportunity. Sometimes I am really good at this and other times I can be a bit stubborn about change. Work in progress, thy name is Tanya.
