I know. It’s February and I’m sharing my goals. Errr … goal. I offer no excuse or apology either, because goals can be made any time, any place. And just like there can be only One (bonus points if you get the reference and remember I am old), there can also be only One Goal. And my goal is to live a BIG LIFE.
You Don’t Own Me
I am on a journey to figure out who I am and what I stand for; to find my purpose; to feel comfortable in my skin. This is a work in progress, an ongoing journey with many points and one that never stops until my last breath. Once upon a time I was a meek rabbit, but now I am becoming a ferocious lion who is protective of this very special creature I call Tanya. I was recently reminded of my power from (of all things) a car commercial.
Inspirational Quotes to Help Shift to Joyful Thinking
Some people collect various tchotchkes or shoes or purses or cats to create happiness. While I would collect cats, I refuse to become a cliche, so instead I collect inspirational sayings to motivate me to live my best life. It’s a lot of pressure on a phrase or sentence or two. 🙂 And yet, words are strong. Inhumanely strong. Ugly words, even those said long ago, grow roots inside of us that seep into our thoughts and unconsciously direct our decisions and beliefs. To help me deal with those roots, I use inspirational quotes to rewire my brain and help me find my way back to happiness.
Living a Wholehearted Life and Embracing My Awesomeness
That’s right. I said “AWESOMENESS!” After all, Shonda taught me to own my badassery and I am. Therefore, I am awesome and so you are. We may not be awesome every single moment of the day (FYI, no one is), but we are still powerful, awesome beings. And knowing this makes me want to shout from the roof top and pee my pants. Hey, being awesome is a kind of scary. The truth is I’ve allowed this fear of my awesomeness to prevent me from living a wholehearted life. Dreams were smushed and lost to the ether. But I’m tired of living small and watching dreams fade into nothingness. I am ready to shine! Aren’t you?
