Every month I plan to feature one DIY post on a variety of topics from beauty, home-cleaning, decorating and more. I have no problem buying quality products that I love, but I also enjoy experimenting with homemade versions too and seeing what I can create with my own two hands. Sometimes, the retail product is superior and other times, the DIY version is the clear winner in both results and cost. In this instance, the DIY pore strips beat the store-bought strips and cost a fraction of the price to make too. Win-Win.
7 Ways I’m Choosing to Live My Best Life
I never watched The Oprah Show, but I LOVE her magazine. One thing she often talks about is living your best life. Your best life. It sounds amazing, right? My best life would be a little glamorous with elegant dinner parties, walks on the beach, snuggling with Max while I read and a closet full of stylish clothes in a size that feels good. The dream is so alluring but always seems out of reach, especially when I play the comparison game. I’ve spent too much time comparing my life to others or worrying about what they think versus creating the life I want for myself. One of my resolutions this year is to live my best life on my terms.
Know Thyself: Goal Success in 2016 and Beyond
We’re almost through the first week of 2016. Here are the headlines in my world: I’ve been sick and el nino brought rain to California. In a nutshell, it has been both a good and rough start. And you know what? I’m completely okay with a mixed bag because that’s life, baby! Life is never all good or bad. It’s a mixture of both, and we get to choose which side of the coin we want to dwell on. I’m choosing to focus on the good. How about you?
Celebrating The New Year with a Cold
Yup. It happened. I caught my annual after-Christmas cold. I was sneezing, blowing my nose, achy and a little bit cranky. 🙂 I had hoped the cold fairy would overlook me this year, due to good behavior, but alas, it was not meant to be. It probably didn’t help that I missed my connecting flight to LAX and spent a sleepless (and cold) night at the Las Vegas airport. The good news? My natural cold remedies definitely made a difference.
Natural Cold Remedies that Are Effective and Affordable
It appears that I am very much a creature of habit when it comes to getting ill. I catch a cold at Christmas; it settles into my chest and eventually becomes bronchitis, which requires some antibiotics. I joke with my friends about always toasting the New Year with cough syrup, rather than champagne, but it’s also true, unfortunately. And I’m really, really tired of it, not to mention the expense of trying to find something that makes me feel human again. Last year, I began doing some research and experimentation with natural cold remedies that helped ease my suffering (and red nose) better than fancy store-bought syrups and pills.
