More Guilty Pleasures that I Love

More Guilty Pleasures that I Love

April 30, 2018 by Tanya // 10 Comments

I call them guilty pleasures because there is a small, teeny tiny part of me that is … maybe … embarrassed about my love for them. Perhaps, they were cool years ago but my love remains deep and true, long past their fresh date. This does not shame me but … I ain’t necessarily proud about it either. They just are. Ya know?

I Feel Guilty! Oh So Guilty! But Not Super Guilty.

Some of you love what you love without shame. Good for you! Me, I deny, deny, deny until someone else admits their love first, then I cannot shut-up about them. ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s Time for Animaniacs

And we’re zany to the max! Admit it — some of you were singing along with me. Others of you are confused. The Animaniacs is the very, very best cartoon ever with Yakko, Wakko (my favorite) and Dot! They are the Warner brothers and sister who run around the Warner Brother’s movie lot creating mischief. Perhaps you know Pinky and Brain — who want to rule the world? Err … no? You should.

During high school/college, I faithfully watched this versus Dawson’s Creek or Party of Five or whatever show was more age-appropriate, which is why it was a guilty pleasure of mine. And you know what — I’d still watch it today if I could. Also, they are cats. I’m positive.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is Delicious. Sometimes

My Mom rarely made this growing up because she wasn’t cool. Nope. She had to make HOMEMADE macaroni and cheese that was delicious, but I was a brat who wanted the box stuff. With the orange powder. Because that’s what the cool kids ate and I was clearly silly. Today I fully acknowledge my Mom’s homemade macaroni and cheese is far superior to the box stuff … but I also still love Kraft macaroni and cheese. Sometimes. I probably wouldn’t choose it over homemade, although I still on occasion crave it and make it and savor it.

I Want to Suck Your Blood Books

Today I read more dystopian books versus ones with bloodsuckers and howlers but there was a period where all my favorite books featured vampires, werewolves, elves, etc. While they were popular, mainstream books, my friends turned their noses at them, which made my affection for them feel wrong. They read what Oprah recommended; I have never been a huge fan of what she likes. Thus, I would nod my head as they raved about her latest book club recommendation while secretly enjoying all my hot vampire stories with their over-muscled, alpha males. Oh la la. I strongly feel that my books were far more enjoyable.

Guilty Pleasure Fantasy Books

I still read The Dresden Files (Jim Butcher) and the Mercy Thompson (Patricia Briggs) series. I read all of The Hollows (Kim Harrison) but the other series I quit at some point. They jumped the shark or the formula grew old.

I Like Big Fonts and I Cannot Lie

I love fonts. PERIOD. Most of you are like who cares. And that’s the right attitude. But I am seriously, seriously obsessed with fonts. I collect them. My font collection is so large that I forget which ones I like. And I get upset, personally offended, when people like ugly fonts. It makes me wonder what else you might be hiding behind your apparent normalcy and sanity. It’s possible that I am the crazy one. After all I’ve been known to spend hours lusting over premium fonts. I might even like fonts more than I like shoes. But not more than I like cats! I’m not that crazy! ๐Ÿ˜€

Okay, I told you some of my guilty pleasures, now you tell me yours!

I ate so much craft Mac n cheese in college that I don’t think I could handle it now. I think my guilty pleasure is probably just TV in general. I seriously love sitting on my couch curled up to watch something…anything!

I go through phases with it. Some days it doesn’t even appeal to me. And other days I’m running to the store just to pick up some of the orange stuff. TV is definitely one of my guilty pleasures too!

I wasn’t allowed to watch Animanics when I was a kid. I have NO idea why. Hahaha! My husband quotes Pinky and the Brain all the time, though.
I prefer Kraft Mac & Cheese, too. Hahahaha. My grandma and mom both make a yummy mac and cheese but I looove Kraft. Especially with some ketchup on it. HA!

Seriously? I wonder why? I love that show so much. I heard they are doing a reboot of some sorts. And I might just watch it! LOL! Now I’m not sure about the ketchup on the mac and cheese but I won’t lie — I’m gonna try it the next time I make some.

Lol, Pinky and the Brain! I loved that show! “What are we going to do tonight Brain?” “Try and take over the world, Pinky”. Narf!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Narf! I loved Pinky and The Brain. And Rita, the singing cat. I can’t remember the name of the doopey dog that hung out with her. ๐Ÿ˜€

I don’t have guilty pleasures. Seriously, if I like it, I don’t feel guilty. But I’m slightly ashamed of the fact that I like Kraft mac and cheese.

LOL! I’m mostly ashamed that sometimes I like it more than homemade because that just seems so wrong. ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh man, I was one of the ones watching Dawson’s Creek and Party of Five! For some reason, I feel like my kids were recently watching Animaniacs…..could it be streaming on Amazon or Netflix? Or maybe I’m just imaginging it. I still like the boxed Kraft mac and cheese too. I will make it for the kids and steal forkfuls! My guilty pleasure has to be my reality TV. I’ve taken a break from the Housewives. But, I’m still into The Bachelor/Bachelorette!

I never really got into Dawson’s Creek or Party of Five for some strange reason. But I did love The Animaniacs. I think Hub has been playing Animaniacs and maybe it’s on Hulu? See, you have an excuse; you’re tasting your kids’ food! LOL! I’ve never really gotten into reality TV. I get the addictive nature of it, which is why I try to avoid it because it can sure suck you in!
