Mini Break: I'm Going Home!

Mini Break: I’m Going Home!

May 25, 2017 by Tanya // 10 Comments

As I mentioned earlier this month, I am experiencing a bit of blogger burnout, which is why my posting has been so infrequent. Normally I take the last week of May off to recharge, but this year I’m extending my break until June 13. I need a little extra time to recharge those batteries, plus I am also going back to Minnesota. One of my nephews is graduating from high school and I am excited to celebrate this momentous achievement with him!

A Little Vacation during My Break

It’s always great to see my family and one of my favorite things to do is cook with Mom. And, of course, I’m going to make a very special dessert for her (a very late Mother’s Day treat).

Strawberry Cheesecake Lush

This Strawberry Cheesecake Lush is so freaking good, especially when you can use amazing California strawberries. And because I am a good daughter (mostly) some of those berries are coming back home with me. I’m also excited that this will also be a low-key trip. Christmas trips are fantastic but get hectic with all the various family gathering and activities. This trip will be more relaxing, which is nice.

Ugh. More Spring Cleaning

I also hope to finish up my Spring Cleaning, which I have been ignoring, during my break. I started so good but cleaning is not fun, which makes it very, very easy for me to find an excuse not to do it. Like my big toe hurts. Or my allergies are bothering me. Or Max wants to snuggle.

Priorities, people. I have them. Or not.

Odds and Ends

Besides getting caught up my NetGalley reading, which keeps growing because I cannot help myself, I am also redesigning A Mindful Migration. I don’t expect to debut the new look until July but I’ve drawn the new layout and love it. Now the fun (and lots of cursing) begins with the code work and graphic design. The good news is I’m in no rush, so no arbitrary deadlines to stress over. 😀

Still Hanging Out in the Blogging World

I won’t be completely absent as I still plan to read blogs and comment, but not while I’m in Minnesota and not necessarily every day. As much as I like to stay connected, I also need to miss everyone to restart my blogging mojo. But never fear — I will be back!

Have a great Memorial Weekend and see you back here on June 13!

Thanks, Rebecca Jo! I will! 😀 Ugh. I hate spring cleaning and have been putting it off as long as possible. Soon it will be winter cleaning. LOL!
