It’s the End of the World and I Want to …

March 24, 2020 by Tanya // 7 Comments

Cry? Yell? Spit? (Probably not, sounds unsanitary). Laugh. Yes. Let’s go with that one. I really want to do all the above, minus the spitting, but today I’m leaning into laughter because I’m trying to push forward during a surreal, difficult and scary time, just like you. So instead of worrying together, why don’t we laugh instead?

Also, I understand that sometimes you are NOT in the mood for laughter or frivolity during serious times like now. It’s offensive and annoying. While other times, you crave silliness to balance the fear rumbling in your belly and to give your heart a little respite. This moment I’m choosing to find a reason to smile, but if that’s not the space you’re in right now, I get it. Come back when you need the smile, this post will still be here. ๐Ÿ˜€

But First … Today’s PSA

Just in case you need a reminder.

For the Love of God, Wash Your Hands and Turn Off the News

Ignorance is not bliss but stop watching CNN (of heaven forbid FOX News) 24/7. A little ignorance (or more like news respite) is okay. Seriously.

Spreading a Little Laughter

But not germs.

Doing crunches twice a day now. Captain in the morning, Nestle in the afternoon.

Now these are the kind of crunches I could get behind. This also explains my poochy belly.

Sleeping in could easily be my superpower. If not for my arch-nemesis, having to pee.

This is very, very true.

If I got rid of everything that didn't "spark joy", I'd be on the side of the road holding my dog and coffee maker.

Replace dog with cat, and this is also very, very true. And why I never read the book too.

Listen, AM I the most attractive girl out there? Of course not. But do I have a good personality?
No, but do I wake up every day and try to be the best person I can be?
Also no.

In times of crisis, it’s best just to be honest. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Like I tell everyone, “Max is mostly good.” So I am, except for the times I am not.

Honest, it's not the way I look that reveals my age, it's my use of complete sentences when I text.

And proper grammar (most of the time), punctuation, and lack of emojis.

You'd think I was wanted for murder the way I react when someone knocks on my door.

And this is always, not just in the time of Covid-19.

The first testicular guard, the "cup" was used in Hockey in 1875 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.

Ladies .... Quit laughing.

It explains so much, doesn’t it?

And One Last Laugh …

Tuesday: Better than Monday? Maybe.

If Tuesday were a movie, it would be called Monday Part 2: Shit just got Monday-er.

I hope that title is not prophetic for you or I today. But it probably is. Sorry.

Have a good week everyone. Stay safe. Be kind. Stop hoarding toilet paper. We’ll get through this because that’s just how we roll. Ahem.

hope you’re keeping safe and away from crowds etc. some people here are being total dillholes and not taking this shit seriously. makes my blood boil.

we have been in lockdown at my house for about 1.5wks now, only going out when absolutely necessary (groceries ie. regular groceries, not hysteria zombie apocalypse groceries). online shopping has increased and the delivery people basically drop kick your package out the truck as they drive by and text/email you to get it as they drive away LOL.

i have also (sadly?) come to realize that my daily life is the same as quarantine life minus going to the gym so there hasn’t been much change in my routine. i hear people complaining how bored they are, how they want to go out and do xyz and i’m like really? this is awesome! now i dont have to make up shit to avoid human interaction.

i just may have to take up blogging again during this time in…. maybe.

Oh my gosh, these are perfect. I would 100% be on the side of the road with my dogs and coffee maker. Hahaha. And the one about crunches. And “am I the most attractive girl/good personality one.” HAHAHAHAHA. Seriously, these are great. Thank you!
