Sorry I haven’t been around. Yes, I know blogging twice a week was a June Goal. Obviously you know how well that went for me since I haven’t posted since mid-June. It wasn’t intentional but … well, there you go. And errr … let’s not talk about my Goal #2: exercising twice a week. Yeah …. let’s definitely not ever talk about it because errrr … June was obviously not a great month for me.
Continue Reading …Let’s Give Thanks Because Hey – We’re Still Alive
Hmmmm … maybe a more apocalyptic title then I intended but still … true. And let’s be real — all of us have worried at least once in the past two years that someone might accidentally, on purpose blow up the world. Or was that just me? No, I didn’t think so. But we’re still here: alive, breathing, kicking and screaming. I’m grateful to be here with you ass-kickers and world-changers and love-mongers.
A Day Late but … Let’s Talk Halloween!
I had zero enthusiasm on any topic, until I saw Rebecca Jo’s post on Halloween. And sure, sure Halloween was yesterday so this is old news. But my blog and Halloween is never old news, especially when I got nothing else to talk about without ranting or obsessively talking about my cat in a way that makes people uncomfortable. Just kidding. You can decide what part I’m kidding about or not. Trick or treat, my friends!
Honoring REAL Leadership this President’s Day
President’s Day used to mean a 3-day weekend and some good sales to me. I never really paid enough attention to it or past Presidents and the decisions they made on a daily basis. You see, once upon a time, I had trust in my President, even one I didn’t vote for, because I still expected them to behave in a certain way. To lead. To have America’s best interest’s at heart versus their own. And if they didn’t, I expected Congress and our courts to uphold the sanctity of the Constitution, and thereby protect our democracy first and foremost. But now, everything seems broken.
Don’t Be a Shithole on MLK Day
Seriously, don’t. Please, pease don’t. I am appalled and embarrassed by you know who’s remarks. But surprised, not really. How many times does he need to say and/or do something racist for us to realize that he is racist? I am, however, deeply disappointed in the response from GOP leaders and Republicans as a whole. Their refusal to condemn his remarks is a slap in the face to MLK and to minorities of which I am one.
What We’re Grateful this Thanksgiving
Tis the week of Thanksgiving which means it’s time for my annual Gratitude List. Normally, I do this over at Eat Laugh Purr but since I’m no longer regularly posting over there, it shall become a tradition here. Of course, Max always joined me and it wouldn’t feel right to exclude him, so please welcome back Max, aka the Coolest Cat.
