Hello

Hello. It’s Me Again.

May 25, 2021 by Tanya // 2 Comments

Back for the 458th time. I’m not even going to bother promising that I’m back. Clearly I’m here right now but for how long? Who knows? Now I’m not planning on leaving but I’m also not promising to faithfully be here every week. And yes, folks, that’s how you build an audience/community – by being deeply sporadic and unreliable. It’s amazing I make a dollar with this blog. Oh wait. I don’t. ๐Ÿ˜€

Honestly, what’s more surprising is that I still know how to use WordPress. They keep doing updates and well, I’m old and grumpy and they confuse me sometimes.

I wish “cookies” were actually cookies. Then I would accept ALL OF THEM!!!

What’s Going On with Me?

Eh, same old, same old. I lead such an exciting life.

Fully Vaccinated, Yes I Am.

As of May 13th, around 4:30 PM, I am fully vaccinated – thank you Dolly Parton.

I will always love you.

I have mixed feelings about the CDC lifting the mask requirement for vaccinated people. While I understand why they made the decision, I’m not quite ready to let go of mine.

  1. They make you harder to recognize. As an introvert who lives in a small town, this made masks completely and utterly awesome.
  2. They hide important things. Like food in your teeth, needing to wax your upper lip and bad breath. Not that I suffer from any of the aforementioned ailments. Nope. Never.
  3. They save lives.

It also appears that my mask has become my adult blanket or binkie. It felt wrong running around Walmart without one, knowing that I was sucking god knows what into my body. Let’s be real: it’s probably safer to wear one in Walmart. They should keep the mask mandate. Forever.

Max is sooooooo HAIRY!!!

Okay, this is not from one brushing but his Spring brushings combined and now I have enough cat hair to make an Emperor Baby Fists toupee that I will sell for ONE MILLION DOLLARS (must be said in the Dr. Evil voice).

And yes, I kept his hair to take this picture. This is weird, I know. But I have always claimed to be a crazy cat lady. This is just proof that I don’t lie.

I Got to See My Grandparents!!!!

I legit cannot remember the last time I saw them. Maybe Valentine’s Day 2020? If I recall correctly, things starting shutting down in Minnesota shortly thereafter. With all of us being vaccinated, it felt safe to visit the and soooooo good to actually see them and deliver a Mother’s Day card and gift in person.

A Reader Who Doesn’t Read Isn’t Much of a Reader

That’s me in a nutshell. Last month I proudly returned to the Show Us Your Books Link-Up. This month. Nope. Nowhere in sight. Mind you, I had checked out plenty of books with every intention of reading them. But mostly I just kept renewing them until the library said “no more”. As I have shared before, with everything going on in the world, my mind cannot get quiet enough for me to enjoy reading. Or anything for that matter. I can watch TV some nights but not always. I’d like to tell you that’s a good thing but it’s not. It just means I’m pacing around my house.

Many of us are overwhelmed with grief. Most of us have never been taught how to handle our grief in a healing way.

I think of this often. I miss you, Maya Angelou. Thank you for sharing your words and wisdom with us.

I Did a Little Targeting

With my tax refund. Not too much because the air conditioning in my car is not working so great and needs to be fixed. Since Minnesota bakes in the summertime and I cannot stand being sweaty, I’ll need to bite the bullet and spend my hard-earned cash to stay cool. But I did manage to score a cute pair of sandals and a couple of tops.

sandals

I took a picture of the sandals with my feetsies in them and remembered why I hate feet; they are ugly. Mine, folks, are no exception. And FYI, these sandals run big and had to go down a size. I also can’t take selfies worth a darn.

Due to my inability to take a selfie with a mirror … this is the best I could do. My kitchen had the best light, so hence the glamorous fridge in the background.

If if a pic is worth a thousand words, mine were all cuss words.

Life Goal

Go Enya. I want this for me too.

Enya gets a lot of crap but she’s living it up, along with her cats, in her humongous castle at all her naysayers. I like that.

See Ya Next Week

Hopefully. But I make no promises. ๐Ÿ™‚

Tell me what’s going on with your or what’s new and exciting in your life. Or what’s a good show or book I should read?

I bought that exact same shirt in that same color at Target last week! Great minds think alike ๐Ÿ˜€

Happy to see a post from you! I got my 2nd vaccine shot last week and am so glad to be done with all that. I hate needles, lol ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re twinsies – YAY! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hate needles too. I was a little nervous for the first shot, mainly cuz I was worried I’d be the big baby yelping when I got stuck but I barely felt it. So glad to be vaccinated!!
