First, Not Second or Third but a List of Firsts

First, Not Second or Third but a List of Firsts

March 8, 2018 by Tanya // 10 Comments

My friend Audrey did this a couple weeks ago and decided to tag in because I love these kind of posts. You find out so many interesting tidbits about your fellow bloggers and friends. Now because I am old, I won’t swear on one of my cat’s 9 lives that all my answers are 100% accurate. They are, however, what I remember. And sometimes … I make stuff up.

What was your first word? I meant to ask my parents when I chatted with them earlier this week but forgot. I’m guessing Mommy or Daddy. Possibly kitty. ๐Ÿ˜€

Do you still talk to your first love? No. And first love makes me think that I’m either in a YA book or a Lifetime movie. I sound like an old coot!

What was your first alcoholic drink? Wine coolers. I’m pretty sure that is first alcoholic drink of many girls. I still prefer fruity, mixed drinks. And champagne.

What was your first job? Cashier at Hardees (also known as Carls Jr). And I actually really liked my job because they liked me and gave me the hours I wanted.

First pet? A kitty, of course! The first cat I recall is Grandma Cat who started out as Mama cat. Next up was Tubbs who I had for many years. He was a lazy, good-for-nothing tomcat who I adored. ADORED!

Tubbs

This is me with Tubbs. I can’t remember how old I am in the picture but approximately 14-15 years old. Tubbs was a lover, not a fighter, who frequently got beat up in search of amore.

What was your first car? A Pontiac something. It looked a lot like a Grand Am but wasn’t one. I do remember that it had a bench seat and no one ever liked riding with me because they were smooshed cuz I am short.

Who was the first person to text you today? A telemarketer. I feel a little put out about it too. When did telemarketers start texting people?

Who was the first person you thought of this morning? Max. He is people. And he was standing on my bladder. FYI: Almost 20 lbs of pressure on your bladder gets you up, rather quickly too.

Who was your first grade teacher? I honestly don’t remember. But I do remember that West Side (my school) is the Best Side. And East Side is the Least Side. I don’t think either school still exists today. I feel so dang old.

Where did you go on your first airplane ride? Chicago, Il. I was 5 months old and coming to America! I don’t recall any of it but have been told many stories about it.

Who was your first best friend and do you still talk? My first best friend was Tonya. And no, it wasn’t me. She just had the same name but spelled slightly different. She moved after kindergarten and we did not stay in touch.

Where was your first sleep over? I imagine my grandparents.

What was the first concert you ever went to? New Kids on the Block! I wore a pair of distressed Girbaud jeans (remember them!) with black patent shoes with wide black ribbons as laces and a black and white polka dot shirt.

New Kids on the Block

What was your first broken bone? I am a klutz. Who walks into doors. Trips up stairs. Killed a tree by walking into it. But I have NEVER EVER broken a bone … knock on wood!

What was your first piercing? My ears.

What was the first foreign country youโ€™ve gone to? Ummm … the United States of America. Cuz, technically I was a Korean first so America was a foreign country. Now, of course, it’s home sweet home.

What was the first movie you remember seeing? In the movie theater, I don’t remember. We very rarely ever went to the movies when I was a child. I remember watching Star Wars but I’m pretty sure those were all on video cassettes.

When was your first detention? I am a good girl and smart enough to never get caught doing something naughty!

Who was your first roommate? Emeril. Ummmm … he was a cat.

What was the first sport you were involved in? I am the most un-athletic person ever so I never played any sports.

What is the first thing you do when you get home? Call out to Max to let him know I’m home. Hunt him down if he does not respond immediately. Panic and possibly cry if I can’t find him (this has happened a few times and he is always in plain sight too). Once found and side-eyed by my cat for my dramatics (yes, my emotional well-being is dependent on acknowledgement by a feline), I normally have to pee. Errr … TMI?

When was your first kiss? I believe 8th grade. At camp. As all first kisses should be.

Your Turn! Tell me some of your firsts. Or tag in!

    Nkotb.. Go girl.
I love you said max. I had my dogs but wasn’t sure if that counted as people. Glad to know I’m not alone in this thinking.

NKOTB til I die. ๐Ÿ˜€ Max and your fur babies are definitely people. In fact, they are some of my favorite people!

    Love this!
“Tubbs was a lover, not a fighter, who frequently got beat up in search of amore. ” Hahahaha. Poor sweet Tubbs!
I wish I’d been smarter and stayed out of detention! Ha! I need to make sure my future kids don’t know how big of a troublemaker their mom was… lol.

Oh Tubbs. He was constantly getting beat up and I was constantly having to play Nurse Tanya with him. But I loved him! Good luck keeping your troublemaking ways secret from your future kiddos. Somehow, they always seem to find out. LOL!

You’re lucky you got to see Tiffany too! The opening act was Dino and The Cover Girls for me – not as exciting. Can’t wait to see your responses!

This list is awesome and I will also be utilizing it for my own post!!

My first concert was Madonna’s Blonde Ambition Tour which was traumatizing to say the least…ha, ha, ha. It *was* back then. Now I’m sure kids have seen everything as this point. But back then, Madonna pushed limits!

I love Madonna, especially her older stuff, but I’m pretty sure that even today I would probably be traumatized after seeing her concert. ๐Ÿ˜€

This was so fun! I can’t remember half of my firsts on this list! I can totally picture the outfit you wore to the NKOTB concert. Sadly, I never got to see them in concert. I don’t think my first concert was until high school. Possibly Jewel? Can’t remember.

It honestly took more time to figure out some of these answers than I expected. ๐Ÿ˜€ My outfit for NKOTB was awesome! Seriously, I can’t remember yesterday but I will never forget that outfit! Jewel would be a great concert.
