So … I”m exhausted this Monday morning. Bone tired. Eyes barely open. And not because I’m Asian and my eyes are never wide open. Nope. My stupid fire alarm has been beeping every 20 minutes since 3:30 AM Sunday morning. There’s no fire (Thank God) or smoke. It’s not a low battery. Or dust or a creepy crawly disrupting the sensor (well, I don’t think so) but it appears from my diligent (aka frantic) research at 4:00 AM that my fire alarm is just at its end of life. I would like to take a hammer to it and speed up its demise.
A Bookish Rant: Tropes I’m Over
In my dreams, someone pays me gobs and gobs of money to just sit around all day reading and snuggling with my cat. It’s a good gig if you can get it! Errr … of course, I don’t actually have that gig or know if it really exists, but I still devour books almost as fast as I gobble up a slice of cheese pizza. Thus, I consider myself to be a book expert. At least the expert of what Tanya likes and dislikes when it comes to books.
First, Not Second or Third but a List of Firsts
My friend Audrey did this a couple weeks ago and decided to tag in because I love these kind of posts. You find out so many interesting tidbits about your fellow bloggers and friends. Now because I am old, I won’t swear on one of my cat’s 9 lives that all my answers are 100% accurate. They are, however, what I remember. And sometimes … I make stuff up.
Romance Movies to Watch with Your Sweetheart this Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is the kind of holiday that divides people. Some hate it; some love it; and some are neutral. I fall into the neutral category. I most certainly agree with those who argue love isn’t a one-day holiday because it’s obviously not. Nor do I disagree that the heightened commercialism of Valentine’s Day is oft-putting and certainly not worth creating debt over either. And yet I also find it to be harmless fun too.
5+5 = 10 Great High School Movies
It’s back-to-school season and I love this time of the year. School and I weren’t always BFFs, but I loved shopping for new school supplies and clothes as a child. Even today, all the back-to-school ads and displays bring out a warm, fuzzy feeling inside of me. I also happen to love movies where high school plays a prominent role. Sure, those movies aren’t really reality based, but still loads of fun.
Celebrating Harry Potter with 20 Questions
Sorry for my extended absence, but I needed a mini-break, so I took one! ๐ But I’m back! And talking about one of my all-time favorite authors and book series: Harry Potter. It’s been a big year for HP fans as we celebrated 20 years of Harry Potter magic on June 26 and both HP and J.K. celebrated their birthdays on July 31. The later HP books were released at the end of July to coordinate with HP’s birthday but with my big ego, I always claimed she did it as a birthday present to me. ๐
