To be completely honest, I’m not sure if this is volume 6 or 12 or 4. I’m too lazy to verify something that really doesn’t matter much in this big ‘ol thing we call life. Also, I had something else fun planned for today but I can’t remember what that was. Normally I do write my post ideas down (I have an ongoing draft with a list of ideas) but didn’t do it and don’t remember what my grand idea was. And sticking with the honesty theme, it may have not been that fun or grand either. ๐
What’s New with Tanya as December Fast Approaches
Thus we’re getting an update on all things Tanya. Well, sort of. As much of an update that an introvert and deeply private person who weirdly blogs is willing to share.
What I’m Reading
Errr … nothing. Well, that’s not completely true. I finally started a book on Wednesday. Yes, the clouds parted, the sun shone through and angels sang, “It is a Christmas book miracle!” A couple friends recommended Matt Haig’s Reasons to Stay Alive to me, which I thought my library didn’t stock; I was wrong. Now I have it and I’m actually reading it.
What I’m Loving
My cat. Seriously, I’m in a bit of a mood. Kind of grumpy and irritable. But I still love The Max Man, even if he has been Mr. Puker lately. Be Best, Max. Be Best.
What I’m Eating
I’m testing a make-ahead breakfast casserole to share in December. Sure, a sweet treat is probably more festive but ummm … you did read Monday’s post, right? This is not the time for me to be stuffing my face with sweets under the guise of “test-tasting”. That’s right up there with my I buy bags of Halloween candy for those trick-or-treaters … who never appear. The recipe needs a bit more tweaking but otherwise it’s a keeper. Stay tuned!
What I’m Hating
Everything. Just call me Ms. Grinch, cuz she’s a mean one. That’s right. Proud of it too.
What I’m Laughing at
Christmas memes with animals are my happy place right now.
I love the brown dog in the front (sorry, not great with dog breeds). He’s personality plus!
This is why I don’t put up a Christmas tree (besides pure laziness). Max weighs almost 20 pounds, so he’d definitely tip that sucker over climbing it and make a huge mess for Mama (aka me) to clean up. The lights alone would drive him bonkers. And the ribbons and bows. The ornaments. Sorry, Max. I love you. But nope.
What I’m Listening to
A few weeks ago Blackish did a tribute to Prince for their 100th episode. Prince, my fellow Minnesotan, is a rock legend and I miss the little Purple Dude from Paisley Parks so much. Anyway, after the show, I’ve been rocking all the Prince songs on Spotify. My favorite Prince song is Kiss.
I also have a very weird fondness for BatDance. ๐ If you haven’t see the Blackish episode and are a Prince fan, I definitely recommend it.
What I”m Looking Forward to
Christmas, I guess. And there she is. My bad attitude rears her ugly head because I love Christmas. And I am 100% looking forward to seeing my family but … I still feel grumpy. Fortunately, I got a few weeks to exorcise the Grinch from my body and find my inner Elf. But not Elf on the Shelf. That dude is freaky. This Elf is hilarious.
Your Turn! Tell me what’s going on in your life? Or what you’re looking forward to the most next month!
Tanya
I’m looking forward to this year being over. LOL
You and me both!
HAHA I love so much your honesty & just claiming the bad moods. I’m so with you lady – so with you.
That dog with the tongue out is the funniest thing ever. Looks like a pit bull. It is nearly impossible t o get pics all together of my dogs. Especially when a blind one doesnt know to sit & stay….
I’m excited for your breakfast casserole recipe. i’m trying to find some good make ahead breakfast ideas.
2018 has just been a sucky year. And it’s almost over, hallelujah. Let’s the good times roll in 2019, right? I thought it was a pit bull but wasn’t sure. His little tongue sticking out is just freaking adorable. I should have the breakfast casserole post ready next Monday. My plan was this week but …. errrrr … I don’t think that’s gonna happen!
I love the movie Elf! So funny! ๐
With my cat, we have to have a fake Christmas tree because he will try and eat a real one. Ah cats…
It’s one of my favorite holiday movies. It just makes me laugh! Really? I never thought about a cat trying to eat a live tree. Max would probably do it. I had a plant on the bottom shelf of my big bookcase that he started nibbling on, so I removed it. And he immediately claimed it as his napping spot, the little stinker!
OMG, we love Elf (the movie)! We have an annual tradition to watch it every December and I can’t wait! Surprisingly, my two cats don’t bat the ornaments or try to climb the tree. They are super curious when we put it up and they both have to be where everyone else is….I even have a cute pic of the two of them laying under it. Glad you’re reading something! I know you and books haven’t had a great relationship!
err, Obama! Haven’t had coffee yet!
I love that you watch Elf as a family. It’s such a cute movie! Wow – I’m impressed that your cats are so kind to your Christmas tree. Max would not be. He loves to bat things around and the twinkling lights would drive him nuts. You have to post the pic of them laying under the tree. My previous cat, Emeril, loved laying under my parent’s tree.
Giiiiirl, you’re allowed to be grumpy ๐ It happens to the best of us and sometimes we just can’t control it. *shrug* You’ve got plenty of time to get in the Christmas mood.
I would like to volunteer to be a part of that doggie Christmas card photo shoot… LOL. Stick me right in the middle of all those pups!
I’m just so darn tired of feeling grumpy about everything, ya know? Like can’t there be just one day, ONE DAY, where it’s all butterflies and roses and puppies and kittens. No bad crap! I’d volunteer to be a part of that picture too. Those doggies are adorable!
Those dog pics were great! I agree on the one in front. The husky is also great because his eyes say he’s PISSED. Elf is one of my absolute favorite holiday movies. I watch it every year. Never stops being funny… much like Home Alone.
